As one of the Western Cape’s most prominent wine and lifestyle estates, Benguela Cove is the epitome of luxury living. The lush farmland was developed to create a vineyard, state of the art winery, lifestyle estate and olive groves.
1943-1945
During World War II: The Bot river lagoon was established as an emergency base for the landing and refuelling of Catalina flying boats.
2003 - 2007
Vineyards Planted at Benguela Cove
2013
Benguela Cove Estate acquired by Penny Streeter and her husband Nick
2017
State-of-the-art, gravity fed winery opened at Benguela Cove.
2017-18
Penny has since taken her vision to two properties in the UK. Creating new vineyards in Sussex at England’s first golf and wine estate in 2017, and Grade I Listed Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens in 2018.
Present Day
Benguela Cove has established a reputation for itself as a leading wine and eco-tourism destination.
